Hi Ladies,
If you are ever anywhere close by Setia Alam, you have to check out Killineys Kopitiam located at the same place where all shops are(there is only 1 business area in Setia Alam - You can look it up in Google Maps)
I was there today with my family and we had real good food there.. Infact this was the 1st time we visited the outlet.
When we entered, we were expecting a typical kopitiam menu (lots of bread options) as that was what we wanted to have.. It was 5 pm.. But we were at 1st dissapointed as there was like only 3 options of bread to choose from - Butter Kaya Toast, French Toast and Toast with Curry... The menu was loaded with lots of other items like Nasi Lemak (various options), noodles, fried rice etc..
After checking out the menu, my kids chose the obvious (nasi lemak with chicken)... At 1st we only ordered for them...My hubby only wanted Coffee Halia (He ordered that because this was the 1st time he has ever seen that on a menu - Normally it's Teh Halia).. He did not wanna eat anything as he was not hungry for such a heavy meal... As for me, I normally order my food once my kids are done.. I always wait to see if they leave any balance (I am the only one who has to finish it.. My hubby has a weird thing about eating leftovers.. haha)
The Nasi Lemak arrived... To my amazement, the portion was huge (I was glad i ordered only 1 plate for both my kids to share).. It consisted of pretty much the standard condiments - Rice, peanuts, anchovies, cucumber and sambal... The chicken was a whole leg (A pretty huge one)... When i tasted it.. it was yuummmmm... it was really good... The sambal was just perfect.. The rice was steaming hot and the chicken was awesome. It was merinated in a "Percik" flavour kinda style and fried (Not a healthy meal though). Check out the picture below (It is actually a lot more than what it looks)
When my hubby tasted it, he called the waiter and ordered one for himself.. hahaha... being the great eater he is, he actually was unable to finish the whole plate and shared it with me.. as i said, the portion was pretty big (Or he was just not that hungry coz he has never left Nasi Lemek unfinished).. hahaha..
After eating that, we ordered their butter Kaya toast.. that was nice too...
As for the drinks, my hubby's Kopi Halia was not bad but my Hot Tea was simply superb... I am a tea freak so i am very particular about tea served at any restaurant.. This I tell you, was good...
After that we were to stuffed to order anything else... haahah.. we ended up taking a stroll along the lake opposite the restaurant to let our food settle a bit before heading back...:))
As for the price.. it was a typical kopitiam pricing (similar to old town or pappa rich but tasted a lot better).. The Nasi Lemak was RM 9.50... Drinks were approx Rm 2 something (Alamak, cant't remember the exact price now.. ).
Service was good too.. Food arrived pretty fast and the waiters (I think burmese) were very friendly..
Since i am going to be there quite often, I am surely gonna visit to try the other food there...
This outlet is surely a THUMBS UP from my family... Try it out and see what you think..
Well that's all for today girls.. till my next post.. adios...
