It was about a home-grown(as quoted in The Star) lawyer who has made headlines in the US. She has been made Salt Lake City's chief prosecutor. MY HEARTIEST CONGRATULATIONS TO HER!!! Awesome!!! To those of you not very familiar with Salt Lake City, here's a brief explanation from Wikipedia:-
Salt Lake City is the capital and the most populous city of the U.S. state of Utah. The name of the city is often shortened to Salt Lake or SLC. With a population of 186,440 as of the 2010 Census, the city lies in the Salt Lake City metropolitan area, which has a total population of 1,124,197.
Relating her past to a Star reporter, she came from a very humble beginning. Being the 10th of 12 children, her father had passed away when she was only at a tender age of 9 but she clearly remembered her father telling her that she should become a lawyer. Well i guess that would have been a strong motivation to accomplish all that she has done in life.
Her selection as Chief Prosecutor was done by a six-person committee made up of city personnel, a justice court judge, a member of the Utah State Bar Association and a member of the public. She had beaten 17 other candidates and is the 1st Malaysian to hold such a prestigious post.
Isn't it wonderful when we hear about women excelling so much in life. An Asian woman who has stood out to be the best(in her field)... better than the locals.... Amazing!! You know, all of us have this in us. We just need to find a way to bring it out. She is no "SUPER WOMAN" She is just like any one of us..... A WOMAN
So ladies... make a decision to strive for excellence in whatever we do ya.... That's all for now... till the next post... cya... and again CONGRATS to PADMA VEERU-COLLINGS..... You have not only made Malaysia proud, you are a pride for all women as well...
